Sunset over Kyle and Kyleakin in January. Sun is directly over Inver Rose

Inverness, Fort William, Gairloch or the Outer Hebrides can easily be visited in a day trip from Kyleakin.

The house is half a mile from the centre of Kyleakin village which has shops, restaurants, bars and a bakery.  A wider range of facilities can be found across the bridge in the Kyle of Lochalsh, including a swimming pool and golf course.  Crossing the bridge is a pleasant walk; alternatively a shuttle bus crosses the bridge regularly during the day.  The bus stops at the end of the road, 300m from Inver Rose.  Various boat trips leave from Kyleakin and Kyle of Lochalsh to see local marine wildlife and shipwrecks.  There are many woodland walks in the area.

Neighbours have spotted Deer, Otters and Pine Martens in their gardens.  They must visit the garden at Inver Rose, although I haven't seen any, you might be more lucky.
